Undergraduate years - classes, research, summer activities, etc.
We also want to invite undergraduate students attending the Long Beach AAS Meeting to several different events.
First of all, you absolutely should attend the Undergraduate Orientation Reception (Sunday, 4 Jan.; 6:00-7:00; Hyatt Pacific)--it's free, there's food, Jake and I will introduce you to all the bigwigs. Following that is the Opening Reception (don't know the room)--it's free, there's more free food (and it's fancier), if you're 21 or over, you can buy cocktails (or get your advisor to), and meet a bunch more people.
If you're interested in astronomy education, the meeting if full of stuff that will inform and entertain you--like teaching workshops, AstroZone, oral, and poster sessions, and a couple informal gatherings: the Astronomy Teaching & Learning Reception (Monday, 5 Jan.; 6:30-7:30; Hyatt Harbor)--more free food--and the Research Brownbag Lunch session (Wednesday, 7 Jan.; 12:45-1:45; Hyatt Shoreline B)--no free food this time cuz' brownbag means bring your lunch with you--but you'll learn about the interesting work that people doing astronomy education research are involved in.
